UK based Ghanaian musician VIJAY, has released a song to pay tribute to the former CEO of the Forestry Commission Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie popularly known as Sir John.
The song celebrates the life of the politician and also praises the work and the person he was.
The tribute song released on July dubbed ‘Mortuary ’ also talks about how painful Sir John’s exit has been for the family, loved ones and country as a whole.
Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie was a Ghanaian lawyer and politician. He held several political positions including serving as general secretary of the New Patriotic Party. He was serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Forestry Commission of Ghana before his demise.
He was a Political Science graduate from the University of Ghana and obtained his LLB from the same university.
He was a product of Bekwai SDA Secondary School and Konongo Odumase Secondary (KOSS) both in the Ashanti Region.
He previously worked at the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) as a Deputy Chief Executive Officer in an acting position during President John Kufuor’s administration and also as head of Legal Services.
Sir John died at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 after an illness. He was 63-years-old [1957-2020].
