Peter Mensah was knocked down on his way home a few months ago, crushing his legs leading to a double amputation.

Former President Jerry John Rawlings on Saturday visited a young boy who was on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital after being hit by a vehicle.

Peter Mensah was knocked down on his way home a few months ago, crushing his legs leading to a double amputation.
He was six when the accident happened but now seven and has so far gone through multiple surgeries including the amputation, graft and plastic surgery.
Doctors say he is responding well to treatment. The former president said he was touched when he watched the video of the young boy recently and hence decided to visit him to see how he was faring.
The former President interacted with other patients at the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of the hospital and expressed his gratitude to the doctors and nurses for their role in taking care of the young boy.
He also assured the hospital of support towards the boy’s treatment.
Peter’s grandmother, Esther Darkoaa who has cared for him since the accident and his mother Alice Fosuaa were both at the hospital during the visit.
